Cats' Eyes Actually, cats do not distinguish colours to well, but their eyes are adapted to use minimal amount of light. This ability makes them excellent night hunters. Cats aslo have broader field of vision than humans what makes them able to see even a slightest move of a potential prey.
Cats' eyes may have one of three basic shapes. They may be round, slanting of almond shape. The usual colour is green, orange (gold) and very rarely - blue. Every of these colours may come in variety of shades. Tabbies usually have green eyes.
